Emergency!

So the other night while flying, I had a bit of a "situation" that led to an early precautionary landing and being met by a bunch of fire trucks with pretty flashing lights. Luckily, it was nothing too extraordinary, just keeping on the conservative side when it comes to expensive airplanes.

I didn't think it was worth waking Katie up at 3am to regale her with my story of heroics, so I explained the situation in the car as we drove to Witchita Falls for some family photos Saturday morning. As our ever-attentive daughters listened in, we get the question from the back seat:

"Dadddy, what's an emergency?"

Well, we explain to Claire that it's a time that things aren't quite right and you need someone's help. If she ever is in a bad situation that could be an emergency, she should call her momma and dadda. And she replies, "Oh, like if you're getting chased by a tiger! You should run away and hide under a bush!"

Not quite sure where that situation came from, but I think she's got the idea.
